This massive box set contains two perfectly sized starter armies of all new (or some newly updated ) models for both the Space Marines and the Necrons. These 61 models have such an amazing level of detail to them, and while they are push-fit models they truly do offer some really fantastic dynamic poses once built up. Just opening the Indomitus box set I felt the same excitement, joy and wonderment that I did when I opened my first starter box set for Warhammer 40,000 all those years ago.
With this many new models all at once I found it hard to finally settle on which faction I wanted to start with. In the end however, I chose to start working on the Space Marines, of which they will represent the Blood Angels chapter once complete.
As I usually do, I started by building up my troop models before moving on to any of the heavy, elite or character units. Just call it an old habit of mine if you will. So far I have found that all of the pieces i have encountered fit together pretty nicely. There really haven't been the need to shave any of the push-fit pegs down in order to get a better fit.
As you can see as of right now I have almost half the squad built up and am really hoping to have the rest of the squad completed by my next week's post (maybe even have them undercoated and ready for painting, but that is weather and time depending so I really don't want to jump ahead of myself just yet) .
Overall I am really happy with the Indomitus box set (seriously love these models) and am looking forward into my journey into Warhammer 40,000 9th edition as well as very excited to share my progress along the way.
