Welcome to this week's edition of Work in Progress Wednesday, picking up right where I left off last week (and if you haven't read last week's post feel free to check it out right here) I am continuing to work on the models found in the Warhammer 40,000 9th edition box set : Indomitus!
Last week I had started my venture into the Indomitus box set by building up the Assault Intercessor Squad for what is to be the start of my Blood Angles Space Marines army. By the time I had finished writing last week's post I had nearly completed building up half of the models that make up the 10 person squad and was hoping to have the rest of the unit finished by this past weekend. I am happy to report that I did indeed meet that goal and finished building the Blood Angles Intercessor Assault unit !
Again I find myself continuing to echo my statements from last week and be in complete wonderment of just how detailed the miniatures from this set have been so far. For instance when building the Assault Intercessor Sergeant you have two variant options for the build, one of which features a very cool looking cybernetic prosthetic hand holding a plasma pistol (of course this is the one that I went with). Which would be very fitting for those looking to have their Space Marines representing the Iron Hands chapter. Personally I'm very much looking forward to seeing just what other small little details are on the rest of models found in this set.

With this edition I am really wanting to dive into more of a narrative play style. Having said this I am starting to flesh out little bit of backstory details here and there as I work on some of the models. As for the Assault Intercessor Squad It's newest marine recruits for the Blood Angels chapter are led by the noble Brother Sergeant Davian and they are ready to unleash their furry on the open battlefield. Right now it's really just some bare bone details (such as just names) but I am really hoping to flesh out more background as I continue to work on the rest for my army.

With all the heat and humidity where I live I really haven't had the proper environment to undercoat my miniature using sprays. Currently I am looking into alternatives into undercoating them (thanks with the help of the Warmongers community on Twitter), right now my best option is undercoating them by hand (of which will be a new experience for me as I have always used sprays). I will say the thought of undercoating them (especially the larger model count units) by hand seems like a very daunting task ahead but I am really wanting to get these new minis up on my painting desk as soon as I can, so it might be worth the extra work. I will give this method a shot using a few test miniatures I have laying around just to make sure that the undercoat lays proper (hoping that it doesn't end up clogging any of the finer details) before doing this on my new miniatures ( I can't stress enough always always always have test models). I am hoping that by next week's post I'll be able to share some of my experiences with all of you.
Just because I didn't have the proper weather to undercoat my miniatures didn't mean that I took a break from any hobbying all together. This past week I was also able to squeak in building up the Eradicator squad for the Space Marine half of the Indomitus box set.

The Eradicators are the newest heavy support choice for Space Marines army, featuring three heavily armored Marines equipped with melta rifles and a bolt pistol. These guys look like they would be such a commanding sight on the battlefield (one of which I'm excited to deploy). I will say when building these guys to just take your time when popping them from their sprues, as it will make cleaning them up a bit easier on you (cleaning any heavy gouges from quick, rough cuts can be a very tedious task). Personally I found myself using my hobby knife (an x-acto blade, and for those of you wondering I use #11 blade as my blade of choice ) with these guys more as it gave me better control when removing mold lines (was able to reach smaller areas) as well as removing any extra leftover plastic from the sprue that I didn't get with my cutters.
For next week I am hoping to have some of the models undercoated as well as having started putting down at least the initial basecoats of paints. I also plan on having the Outriders unit mostly (if not all the way) completed by next week's post.
